Today President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has laid flowers to the Unknown soldier memorial in Moscow.  This memorial has been installed to the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, who had died during the Second World War.

On 4 April President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Moscow on a state visit at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.  A guard of honor was lined up for the high-level guest at the Vnukuvo-2 airport, decorated with the state flags of the two countries. The Head of our state was greeted by the members of the Government of the Russian Federation.  Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin will discuss the issues of reinforcing strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, prospects of developing the mutually beneficial cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communications, scientific-technical, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, will exchange views on regional and international problems.  A Joint declaration of the Presidents of the two states, over 50 documents, aimed at further developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in various spheres are expected to be signed during the state visit.

 On February 15, 2017, in The Ministry for foreign economic relations, investments and trade was held a meeting with representatives of the delegation of the Korean Federation of textile industries (KOFOTI) and the Korean Institute of industrial technology (KITECH).  During the meeting, the foreign side was presented detailed information on the benefits and preferences created for foreign investors, particularly in the textile sector, and created free economic zones in the Republic.

  ADB approved a USD 198 million loan to upgrade 77 km of Karshi-Shakhrisabz-Kitab highway. Asian Development Bank has approved a USD 198 million loan on 6 December to help upgrade and widen 77 km of the existing Karshi-Shakhrisabz-Kitab highway in Kashkadarya province, southeast of Uzbekistan, the ADB press service announced.  “The road upgrade will solidify Uzbekistan’s position as a key transit country for trade in Central Asia and the rest of Europe and Asia,” principal transport specialist at ADB’s Central and West Asia Department Jiangbo Ning said. “The project will also improve road facilities and management through road safety measures, and capacity development for relevant authorities and stakeholders.”

On November 27, Inha University in Tashkent held the evaluation of the developments within MIT.UZ Open Data Challenge 2016. MIT.UZ Open Data Challenge is a competition where teams of programmers, designers and journalists compete in a rapid product development based on open government data. Within Open Data Challenge teams had to operate in a tightly limited time frame: within two days abstract ideas should have turned to prototypes or alpha version of new web and mobile services, infographics and articles.
